On December 12, 2022, the Law Office of Matthew Peterson’s client was found NOT GUILTY of assault with a dangerous weapon by a jury in Chelsea District Court.
The defendant was facing two and a half years in jail for assault with a dangerous weapon. He was charged with threatening another driver with a firearm during a traffic argument in Chelsea.
Attorney Peterson took the case to a jury trial in Chelsea District Court. He aggressively cross-examined the alleged victim on her version of the story and how it compared with the 911 call. Specifically, the 911 call did not include any information about a gun. Additionally, the complaining witness changed her story multiple times during the trial on multiple fronts.
After arguing these points to the jury, they found the defendant NOT GUILTY.
