Evidence SUPPRESSED for Client Charged with Possession of Class A Substance

attorney chelsea district court

On October 2, 2021, the Law Office of Matthew W. Peterson got the drug evidence against our client SUPPRESSED.  This resulted in the case eventually being dismissed in Chelsea District Court.

The client was charged with possession of a Class A substance.  He was searched after an anonymous tip said a fanny pack contained a gun.  Our client was stopped, and officers searched his backpack.  They found a controlled substance within a sunglasses case inside the backpack.

We filed a motion to suppress to throw out the evidence.  After a hearing, the Chelsea District Court Judge agreed that the drugs were seized illegally and ordered them suppressed.  This means the Commonwealth cannot use them at trial.

Eventually, the charge was dismissed.
