Matthew Peterson Wins Motion to Suppress in Trafficking Case

criminal defense middlesex

On June 8, 2022, the Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn allowed our motion to suppress the results of an illegal stop of our client’s vehicle.  This means the Commonwealth cannot use the results of the search, and the case will be dismissed.

Our client was facing trafficking charges and a mandatory three-and-a-half years in state prison.

The court ruled that our client was illegally stopped after he was seen speaking to an alleged known drug dealer.  The judge held this was not enough to stop our client’s vehicle and search it.

If you are facing serious drug charges in Middlesex Superior Court or any Superior Court in Massachusetts, a motion to suppress may be your best defense.  Call or text me today at (617) 295-7500, and I’d be glad to get started on your case!
